Pure Charity Account Types: Individual Donor vs. Nonprofit Organization
User Account (Individual)
A User Account is a personal profile for anyone who uses Pure Charity as an individual. This includes donors, trip participants, fundraiser organizers, and nonprofit administrators.
What a User Account lets you do:
- Donate to any fundraiser or sponsorship program on Pure Charity
- Register for mission trips
- Create personal fundraisers
- Manage your giving history, recurring donations, and payment methods
- Access year-end giving statements for tax purposes
- Serve as an admin for one or more Nonprofit Accounts
Key details:
- Every person who uses Pure Charity needs their own User Account
- You always log in with your User Account email and password
- From your User Dashboard, you can access any Nonprofit Accounts you have admin access to
- Your User Account includes your personal name, email, address, and phone number
Nonprofit Account (Field Partner)
A Nonprofit Account — referred to as a “Field Partner” account on Pure Charity — is your organization’s profile on the platform. This is where you manage fundraising campaigns, donor data, sponsorship programs, trips, and reporting.
What a Nonprofit Account lets you do:
- Create and manage fundraising campaigns
- Set up and manage sponsorship programs (one-to-one, multiple, or crowd-funded)
- Coordinate mission trips with registration, payments, and participant management
- Track donations, download donor reports, and manage recurring giving
- Request grant disbursements of raised funds
- Customize your nonprofit’s branding, logo, and page design
- Integrate with WordPress, Salesforce, and Mailchimp
- Run financial and donor reports
Key details:
- A Nonprofit Account is tied to your organization, not to any individual person
- Multiple people can have admin access to the same Nonprofit Account
- Your Nonprofit Account includes your organization’s name, address, tax ID, logo, and contact information
- Only verified 501(c)(3) organizations can have Nonprofit Accounts
How They Work Together
When you log into Pure Charity, you’ll always use your User Account credentials. From your User Dashboard, you’ll see a “Managed Field Partners” section that shows any Nonprofit Accounts you’re an admin for. Click on a nonprofit to switch to that organization’s dashboard.
This means one person can manage multiple nonprofits from a single login, and a single nonprofit can have multiple admins — each with their own User Account.
Things to Remember
- Your login is always your User Account email. Even if you primarily use Pure Charity to manage a nonprofit, you log in with your personal User Account.
- Admins can change, but the Nonprofit Account stays. When employees or volunteers leave your organization, you can remove their admin access without affecting the Nonprofit Account itself.
- Every Nonprofit Account should have at least one Accounting Admin. This role has access to billing and grant disbursement features that regular admins don’t have.
